From eternity you reached into time, and wove the sun and stars that shine.
The Word, God the Son in flesh, you came to put our fears at rest.
Darkness reigned in a broken world, the hearts of men were evil still.
The Word, the life and light of men, you destroyed the sting of sin.
Fully God and fully man, by grace through faith is salvation.
From heaven to earth, from cradle to cross, the world I count as earthly loss.
By blood you shed for me that day, I am redeemed I’m pleased to say.
Purchased for your church anew, to Jesus praise and glory due.
