Belong, Behold, Believe (Isaiah 44:1-5): A Poem for Weary Christians

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

How long must I wander to see your face?

A barren, empty soul is all I feel now.

The drought is lingering, where is my joy?

All that’s left here is rugged ground.

My Lord, my God alone, you spoke to me.

Lay your burdens here at my feet.

You belong to me, my precious child.

All my promises you must believe.

Behold now my glory, the blazing light.

Angels long to worship my mighty name.

Holy, holy, holy is their refrain.

I am yours forever, I never change.

Belonging to your family, I thank you God.

Beholding of your glory, I am undone.

Believing in your promises, I will endure.

By faith in Christ alone my battle’s won.
