Life Update: God’s Crazy Grace

It has been about a year since I posted last. This whole writing thing has been a journey for me, much like my relationship with Jesus. It has been a crazy year and I’m just glad that God is on my side. Since I wrote last, I got my master’s of divinity degree, graduated seminary and moved back to Indianapolis. I left my position leading worship at my church and joined another church. I began serving at my new church, Hunter Road Bible Church, as a volunteer leader and it has been a God-send. The Lord knew exactly what I needed and provided many blessings for me to be refreshed and encouraged in a new season of life. God is so good. I have had the opportunity to lead worship in a variety of ways, co-teach in the youth ministry and found a wonderful young woman who loves Jesus and makes me a better man. I’m so thankful for these blessings! As I begin a new chapter with many uncertainties, I sense that God is moving in my life. I have many things to figure out, pieces of the puzzle to fit in, and big decisions to make, but I’m on the journey. God’s crazy grace has been evident in my life during this season.

Pressing Onward

I’m reminded of Paul’s encouragement to the Philippian church. He told them, Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (3:12-14). The Christian life is a race, a marathon. It takes time for God to work His divine hand in the heart of every believer. During the uncertain times, the trying times, the joyful times, God is at work, and He finishes what He starts (Phil. 1:6)! This is true in my life right now. Pressing onward, I look to Jesus to guide the way. There are so many blessings He has placed before me. I’m so grateful. Now, to grow and mature into the man God has called me to be. Pray for me. God bless you!

Steve
